Specialists in planting, landscaping and floristry, horticulture is at the heart of what we do, with site planting and transformations accounting for the majority of our work. Alongside this, we offer design and build services for a wide variety of events, bars, mobile and semi-permanent structures, exhibition stand and displays, venue and also complete site transformations.

Based in Charlecote, Warwickshire, our purpose-built site brings our areas of expertise and team together, with a dedicated plant nursery allowing us to grow and house a huge range of beautiful trees, plants and cut flowers, a design studio, welding and carpentry workshop, a warehouse of interior items and props, and offices all under one roof.

Horticulture Manager

NGCS is looking for an experienced Horticulture Manager to take responsibility for the care and maintenance of all plant stock including both indoor and outdoor plants held within greenhouses, polytunnels and outdoor spaces.

You will be responsible for purchasing all necessary materials, plant feeds, pesticides etc. to enable you to perform your duties.

You will also be required to source, and purchase plants direct from Holland and other continental growers, as well as specialist liaising and building strong working relationships with Dutch suppliers and growers to source unique plants.

As part of our calendar of events you will manage a small team to assist with the maintenance and watering of plants and also the make-up of plants and planters for our events working to tight deadlines.

During certain times of the year, you may be asked to work with the team on event sites with our prestigious clients, advising and leading the planting team and working to fulfil the client briefs to complete the spaces. There may also be an opportunity to work with clients on an international level.

We also have a number of onsite grounds contracts for high-level commercial and private clients, so you would be required to manage and maintain planting plans, landscaping and maintenance for these sites with a support team.

The position is both physically and mentally demanding with long working hours during the summer months. Strong management skills and an ability to adapt to fast moving changes are essential to the successful performance of this role.


Liaise with Operations Director to make decisions for operational activities.
Plan and execute annual plant maintenance schedule.
Manage staff resourcing around busy periods.
Management of small team.
Purchasing of plant supplies from local suppliers.
Purchasing of plants and trees from international suppliers.
Ensuring plants and trees are made up for events.


Proven experience as Horticulture Manager or equivalent position.
Strong horticulture experience and plant knowledge.
Relevant horticultural qualifications - preferred, not essential.
Proven experience of leading teams.
Able to demonstrate a strong background in garden centres/nurseries or horticultural environments.
Effective maintenance of all relevant nursery areas.
Strong plant knowledge and understanding of plant quality.
Computer Literate (Excel & Word).
Good planning and organisational skills.
Ability to work to time pressures effectively in a fast moving and rapidly changing market.
Good interpersonal skills - a team player.

Director of Operations

NGCS are looking for an experienced Director of Operations to organise and oversee the daily operations of our company. This position is a dynamic, cross-functional role, which includes project planning, workflow management, team leadership, fulfilment, quality control and on-site management.

This role require exceptional organisational skills and management, to ensure that our business is well-coordinated, efficient and productive by managing its processes, allocating resources and directing its people at every stage of the project.

The area of responsibility for this role is very wide and requires thorough knowledge of event setup, project management, logistics and third-party sub-contract management as well as the ability to be hands-on when required.

The ideal candidate will have some horticultural knowledge and background; this, however, is not a necessity. He/She/They must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to run the business’ operations, ideally with an events and project management background, leading by example and with an excellent eye for detail.

Liaise with superior to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals.
Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress across its horticultural, build and event setup operations.
Supervise staff from different departments and continually look for opportunities to grow and become more efficient.
Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business processes and propose / deliver improvements.
Manage procurement processes, select and appoint sub-contract partners, coordinate the build, horticultural and event pipeline to ensure the availability of plants, stands and resources.
Oversee customer support processes and organise them to enhance customer satisfaction.
Review financial information and improve operational effectiveness to promote profitability.
Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/supply chain.
Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics.
Ensure that the company runs with conformity to established regulations.


Proven experience as Director of Operations or equivalent position.
Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
Outstanding communication and people skills.
Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines.
In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g.. supply chain, finance, customer service etc.).
