Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026

The relationship with Goodwood now extends beyond a decade. Over that time, Natural Green’s role has grown from supplying planting and florals to delivering a much broader mix of infrastructure, carpentry, venue dressing and horticultural support across hospitality spaces, guest areas and exhibitor stands.

Work began weeks before the event opened, with the team operating across multiple areas and coordinating closely with Goodwood’s Motorsport events team, other contractors and exhibitors. As with any major live event, timing was critical. Decking, structures, fencing, planting and florals all had to be installed in the right sequence, often within tight build windows.

One of the largest areas was the exclusive Ton Club, a prestigious VIP space named after drivers who have achieved 100mph on the famous Goodwood motor circuit. Natural Green installed hardwood decking, three pergolas, fencing and back-of-house elements, before completing the area with planting, hedging-style screening and floral decoration.

The result was a premium environment that felt relaxed and established, while still functioning effectively for guests and event teams. It is a good example of how Natural Green’s role goes beyond decoration. The team helped create the underlying space as well as the finished look.

Natural Green also supported a number of Goodwood’s key hospitality and trackside areas, including the Surtees Bar and the Moss, Hill, Gurney and Clark spaces. These areas combine strong views of the track with opportunities for guests to spend time close to drivers, teams and the wider action of the event.

Planting, bay trees, cut florals and natural screening were used to soften the temporary structures and create a more welcoming atmosphere. In the Drivers’ Club, planting was also incorporated into specially designed autograph fencing. The layout allowed spectators and guests to engage with drivers and request autographs without creating unnecessary barriers or compromising the flow of the space.

Apple trees, hydrangeas and mixed planting helped the fencing feel like part of the wider Goodwood landscape rather than a purely functional boundary. This balance between experience and practicality is central to successful event design. A space needs to look right, but it also needs to support how people move, meet and interact.

A significant new addition for 2026 was the Partners’ Enclosure, sponsored by Howden. Natural Green helped uplift the area through a series of substantial planters in varying heights, combining palms with layered base planting.

The planters created structure and definition across the space, while softening the surrounding event infrastructure. An entrance feature was also dressed with trees and planting to create a stronger sense of arrival and give the enclosure a more distinctive identity.

Elsewhere across the site, Natural Green supported private and invitation-only areas, including the Library Lawn, where hedging and planting were used to complement the setting within the Duke of Richmond’s private garden. The team also dressed the main entrance with planting including pink hydrangeas, helping establish the event’s visual tone from the moment guests arrived.

The overall brief remained rooted in Goodwood’s established character: quintessentially English, natural and appropriate to the historic estate. White flowers, bay trees, hydrangeas, hedging and garden-style planting were used throughout to create continuity across very different spaces.

Alongside its work for Goodwood, Natural Green supported a number of automotive exhibitors, including Ferrari, Lamborghini and Subaru. Each installation was adapted to suit the architecture and identity of the individual stand.

For Ferrari, tall trees were installed in bespoke one-metre planters to create scale and presence around the hospitality space. On the Subaru stand, planting was integrated between vehicles positioned on raised ramps, adding texture without competing with the cars themselves.

This ability to work across both organiser-led spaces and brand environments was an important part of the project. Some areas required subtle, natural planting that felt at home within the Goodwood estate. Others needed sharper, more contemporary treatments that complemented global automotive brands.

The 2026 event also brought unusually hot and dry conditions. With extensive living planting spread across a very large site, watering and plant care became a significant operational task throughout the build and event.

The team monitored the planting closely and adapted its maintenance programme to ensure trees, flowers and planted features remained in excellent condition. It was a reminder that the finished installation is only part of the job. Protecting the quality of the scheme throughout the event is just as important.

For Natural Green, Goodwood Festival of Speed demonstrates the value of a long-term client partnership. An established understanding of the venue, event and audience allows the team to deliver familiar spaces consistently, while identifying opportunities to improve and evolve them each year.

From premium hospitality and driver engagement areas to entrance features, private gardens and exhibitor stands, the objective remained the same: to create well-designed, practical spaces that enhance the guest experience and support the smooth running of one of the world’s most recognised motoring events.
