Green Design for a Modern Workplace

Transforming Capital House, Douglas: Green Design for a Modern Workplace

Understanding the brief

Capital International came to us during the planning phase of their 20,000 sq ft refurbishment, looking for ways to introduce greenery and texture into the space without the ongoing maintenance demands of live planting. Through a series of detailed video consultations, we worked closely with their team to understand the layout, lighting conditions, brand aesthetic and practical considerations.

From the outset, faux planting was the right solution. It allowed for complete design flexibility, consistency across floors and reassurance around safety and longevity.

What we delivered

Working to the agreed brief, Natural Green Creative Spaces supplied a coordinated package of bespoke faux greenery, designed to elevate the workspace while feeling natural and intentional rather than decorative.

The installation included:

All faux planting was fire retardant and suitable for a commercial office environment.

Designed for distance, delivered with care

As the project was being delivered to the Isle of Man, logistics were critical. Every element was carefully packed onto bespoke pallets, built by our team to ensure safe transport. Capital’s team then installed the greenery themselves, with our guidance, making this a great example of a successful collaborative approach across locations.

The impact

The finished space now includes a bright open-plan office, a welcoming reception and client suite, a work café for informal meetings, flexible meeting rooms and a versatile conference space, all enhanced by thoughtfully placed greenery.

As Anthony Long, Executive Chairman at Capital, explains:

“Our goal was to create a space that truly reflects who we are – modern, collaborative, and client-focused.”

Greenery plays a quiet but powerful role in achieving that goal. It softens interiors, adds warmth, improves visual flow and helps spaces feel more human, without adding operational complexity.

A strong example of interiors expertise

This project is a great example of how Natural Green Creative Spaces supports interior designers, workplace teams and corporate clients with creative, compliant and practical green solutions. Faux planting, when done well, can transform workspaces, enhance wellbeing and reinforce brand values, without compromise.
