Bringing a Digital World to Life at Goodwood
Creating truly memorable brand experiences means going far beyond signage or set dressing. One standout example of Natural Green’s experiential work is the immersive launch experience created for Forza Horizon 4, delivered at Goodwood Estate in partnership with Xbox.
Forza Horizon 4 is built around a defining concept: a shared open world shaped by four dynamic seasons. The challenge was to translate that digital mechanic into a physical, real-world environment in a way that felt authentic, surprising and emotionally engaging.
Guests were driven through a bespoke off-road course across the Goodwood estate, accompanied by professional drivers familiar with the terrain and the vehicles. What appeared at first to be a conventional rally-style drive quickly unfolded into something far more immersive. As one journalist later described, exiting a wooded section of the course led unexpectedly into a rapid transition between seasons, mirroring the gameplay experience itself.
Winter arrived first. Snow effects fell against the windscreen and winter scenes appeared trackside, complete with icy visual cues and seasonal props. Moments later, the environment shifted again. Spring followed, with fresh planting and colourful gardens lining the route. Summer came next, marked by brighter light, activity and playful details that reflected the game’s festival-like atmosphere. Autumnal tones completed the journey, with warmer colours and landscape elements that echoed the game’s final seasonal state.
Natural Green was responsible for bringing these seasonal environments to life, designing and delivering the planting, landscaping and environmental transitions that made each shift feel believable rather than theatrical. The work required careful choreography. Each season needed to be visually distinct, instantly recognisable and robust enough to withstand live conditions, all while being experienced at speed from inside a moving vehicle.
Xbox branding and in-game visuals were integrated throughout the route, ensuring the physical environment aligned seamlessly with the digital world players recognised on screen. The result was an experience that blurred the line between game and reality, allowing guests to drive through the core concept of Forza Horizon 4 rather than simply being told about it.
This project remains a powerful example of Natural Green’s ability to combine creative vision, environmental design and operational delivery at scale. It demonstrates how planting, landscape and spatial storytelling can be used not just to decorate an event, but to communicate complex ideas, evoke emotion and create moments people genuinely remember.
For brands looking to turn abstract concepts into lived experiences, this project captures what Natural Green does best: transforming ideas into environments that tell a story.
