Established in 1987, FCLG is a leading provider of customised fleet management services, helping organisations improve efficiency and reduce risk through customer-focused fleet solutions. As part of a wider office refurbishment programme at its Bicester headquarters, the business sought to create a professional, engaging and visually appealing environment for its 70 employees and visitors.
Working alongside Oxfordshire based, workplace design company, Kylie Harvey and Ria Bond, Executive Assistant & Office Coordinator, Ascott, a division of Natural Green was commissioned to supply a carefully curated planting scheme that would complement the wider interior design vision while delivering long-lasting visual impact with minimal maintenance requirements.
The installation centred around several key statement pieces designed to bring texture, colour and natural elements into the newly refurbished workspace.
A bespoke framed moss feature incorporating the FCLG logo provides an eye-catching branded focal point, helping to reinforce the company's identity while introducing a biophilic design element into the office environment.
The scheme also included a faux tree with variegated foliage, housed within a contemporary planter, together with a magnificent large scale feature ficus tree positioned at the heart of the office. Acting as both a visual anchor and a statement design feature, the tree introduces height, scale and softness into the space, helping to create a more welcoming atmosphere.
To complete the project, a wall planter with foliage and two tabletop grass arrangements were installed within elegant grey-washed concrete planters, bringing additional greenery and texture into meeting and collaboration areas.
Commenting on the project, Ria Bond said: "It all looks so good. Thank you for your team's hard work and flexibility with this. This expansion is about much more than extra office space. It is about investing in our people, our customers and the future of FCLG."
The team welcomed Calum Miller MP, Member of Parliament for Bicester and Woodstock, to officially open the new office.
The Growing Role of Faux Planting in Workplace Design
As organisations continue to invest in creating attractive, people-focused workplaces, planting is increasingly being recognised as an important design element rather than simply a decorative addition.
For interior designers, facilities teams and workplace strategists, high-quality faux planting offers a practical and highly effective solution where maintenance requirements, lighting conditions or operational considerations may make living planting less suitable.
Today's premium faux products deliver exceptional realism and can help transform environments by introducing colour, texture, softness and visual interest. They can also help define spaces, create focal points and contribute to a more welcoming and enjoyable experience for employees, visitors and clients.
For commercial environments, additional considerations such as durability and compliance are equally important. All faux planting supplied for this project was fire retardant, providing reassurance alongside aesthetic appeal.
More Than a Finishing Touch
The FCLG project demonstrates how thoughtfully specified planting can play an important role in bringing an interior design scheme to life.
From branded moss walls and statement trees to smaller planting features that enhance meeting spaces, greenery has the ability to transform how a workplace looks and feels, helping create environments that are professional, welcoming and memorable.
Whether supporting an office refurbishment, creating standout reception areas or enhancing collaborative workspaces, Natural Green Creative Spaces works closely with interior designers, architects and businesses to deliver bespoke planting solutions that make a lasting impact.
Because sometimes the difference between a good space and a great one is in the detail.
